“We will work with CBSE on digital certificates. The proposal is always to enable students to save their CBSE certificates inside their digital locker. I expect CBSE will issue these certificates within several months,” IT Secretary R S Sharma told PTI.

The government launched digital lockers on February 10 and within 90 days over 1 lakh folk have started making use of it. Madhya Pradesh (over 24,000), Uttar Pradesh (over 17,000) and Gujarat (over 13,000) are top three states where everyone has registered just for this facility.
The reasoning behind digital locker should be to make people clear of carrying files or getting copies attested.

Any person having Aadhaar number can open digital locker take into account free.
“When a government department is issuing certificates then other government department shouldn’t make people run for verifying same document from here repeatedly. Our priority is usually to bring all educational institutes agreeable for issuing certificates that can be kept in digital locker,”
He added, the Department of Electronics and IT is also working together with various other entities to issue digital certificates.
“Along with academic certificates we have been approaching other government departments which might be involved in issuing virtually any certificates. PAN Card, Voter ID will also be in pipeline,” he was quoted saying.
IT Ministry will start dealing with Oil PSUs to issue digital LPG books sufficient reason for state governments for ration cards assuring education board certificates.
